If you’re looking for a day trip in Slovenia, or even a half day trip, this is the place! One of the most famous and magnificent waterfalls in Slovenia is located in the Vrata Valley in Triglav National Park. It is also one of the highest waterfalls in Slovenia – the upper fall is 16 meters high and the lower is impressive 52 meters falling into the pool. The best part is that you can walk behind the waterfall and admire it from a completely different angle. It’s a very easy 10 minutes walk one way to reach the lower fall, but the trail is steep. You will need another 5 minutes to get to the upper fall, however beware as here the trail is even steeper. Since the water is dripping from everywhere make sure you have a waterproof jacket, as you have a feeling it’s almost raining. To access to the waterfall is through Mojstrana village and can be reached by car. There is no entrance fee and you can park your car right next to the hut below the waterfall. Peričnik fall is without a doubt one of the most magnificent waterfalls I have ever seen and the mist around it made it even more magical. The waterfall is supposed to be the most spectacular in winter when it is completely frozen so I will make sure to come back then. How about you? Have you been? Did you like it? 🙂
